Hand-forged from high-performance 1060 steel

The blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel , an alloy renowned worldwide for its exceptional balance of hardness, flexibility, and impact resistance. This choice of steel, historically used for actual combat weapons , guarantees a blade capable of absorbing repeated impacts without permanent deformation while maintaining a lasting edge .

The oil quenching process, followed by carefully controlled tempering , gives the blade its optimal mechanical properties: hard enough to hold a cutting edge, yet flexible enough to flex under stress without breaking. The central fuller runs along most of the blade, an ingenious medieval technique that reduces weight by 20 to 25% while maintaining structural rigidity along its axis. The satin polish reveals the pure, functional geometry, free from superfluous decorative embellishment.
