The Birth of a Passion — Three Souls, One Journey, One Eternal Flame
The story of Blade Bushido™begins in 2014, in the beating heart of Japan, in the mythical city of Seki— the legendary cradle of Japanese blacksmithingfor over 700 years. It is in this city, where the greatest master blacksmiths forged themost renowned samurai katanas, that our destiny was sealed.
In the glowing twilight of a traditional workshop, time seemed to stand still. We watched, mesmerized, as a Japanese master blacksmithhammered a katana from forged steel. Each hammer blow resonated like an ancient heartbeat. The metal came to life before our eyes, shaped by millennia of patience, absolute precision, and a consuming passion. Sparks danced in the heat-saturated air as the steel bent and folded, again and again, according to the tamahagane technique—the traditional forging method that gives Japanese bladestheir legendary sharpness and exceptional strength.
That moment was a revelation, a profound emotional shock. In a flash of clarity, we understood that behind every master forged bladelay a soul—an unbreakable bond between man and steel, between tradition and eternity. This vision of the handcrafted knifeas an extension of the human spirit transformed us forever.
Back in France, this inner flame never died. It smoldered for six years, fueled by research, encounters with master blacksmiths, and learning traditional forging techniques. In 2020, driven by this creative obsession, we founded Couteaux Bushido, with a crystal-clear objective: to create an authentic bridge between centuries-old Japanese tradition and the French passion for exceptional cutlery.
Since that day, our mission has remained unchanged: to honor the spirit of Bushidoin everything we forge, select, and offer.
