A symbol of the grandeur of the Date clan, this katana pays homage to the legendary Date Masamune (1567–1636), nicknamed the One-Eyed Dragon of the North. A formidable strategist and enlightened lord, he left his mark on Japan through his sense of honor and his pursuit of excellence.
Forged using ancestral techniques, this exceptional sword combines 880 layers of folded steel, a wavy hamonand a white lacquered saya, reflecting the purity and mastery of the sword.
📜 Description
Origin and spirit
Date Masamune, famous for his single eye and his crescent moon-adorned armor, embodies the duality between foresight and fury. This katana is directly inspired by his symbol: a blade as pure as it is sharp, balancing calm and power.
The characters 伊達政宗are engravedon the tsuba, bearing witness to a tribute to the values of courage, discipline and prestige of the Date clan.
The contrast between the white of the sayaand the red of the tsukaevokes both the snow of northern Japan and the blood of battles that have forgotten the legend of Masamune.
Forging and manufacturing
Its blade is crafted from 880-layer folded steel, displaying a stunning Damascus pattern, enhanced by a wavy hamonthat attests to its authenticity. Forged with meticulous care, the blade is finished with a fine polish, giving it a unique luster. This exacting craftsmanship makes it a weapon worthy of the finest Japanese traditions.
