📜 Description: When Legend Meets Steel

The name Taiyō Taishō (太陽大将) literally means "General of the Sun" .
In feudal Japan, the sun symbolized both imperial lineage , clarity of mind , and domination on the battlefield .
This tachi is inspired by the blades carried by elite commanders in the era when the sword was not an ornament, but a symbol of absolute authority . Its slender silhouette and pronounced curve are reminiscent of the prestigious swords reserved for military leaders.

🔥 Forging and manufacturing

The blade is hand-forged from carbon steel , using traditional Japanese methods.
It reveals a visible undulating hamon , the result of a controlled differential hardening, offering a balance between edge hardness and blade spine resilience .
Each piece is forged to order , then polished to highlight the hamon line and the natural curve of the tachi.

Frame and details

The katana is mounted in a luxurious koshirae , faithful to traditional codes:

• Saya lacquered in deep red, adorned with elegant gold finishes
• Tsuka sheathed in white same (ray skin) , braided with a tight black ito
• Golden menuki visible beneath the braiding
• The tsuba , fuchi , kashira and habaki are made of finely crafted gilded metal.
• Black, white and red braided sageo , emphasizing the martial and ceremonial character of the piece
