The Kazekiri (風切り) , a handcrafted Japanese katana inspired by the wind's edge, embodies speed, precision, and mastery of movement. Its Unokubi-zukuri style blade, with its sharp and elegant geometry, offers remarkable balance for both martial practice and collecting.
📜 Description
Origin and spirit
Kazekiri literally means "he who cuts the wind." This name echoes the swift swords used by some Japanese warriors to prioritize fluidity, penetration, and continuity of movement.
The Unokubi-zukuri geometry – historically associated with agile and nimble blades – evokes a martial philosophy centered on pure efficiency, where every cut must be clean, precise and without superfluous effort.
Forging & manufacturing
The blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel , renowned for its excellent balance between hardness, resilience and ease of maintenance.
Its Unokubi-zukuri section refines the back of the blade while maintaining a powerful edge, improving penetration and dynamic balance.
Polishing highlights the natural lines of the blade and the fuller, enhancing both the aesthetics and the distribution of mass.
