📜 Description
🌙 Origin & Spirit
The Shirasaya Clair de Lune pays homage to the understated blades of the samurai, preserved in a pure, light wood. More than a katana, it embodies contrast: the luminous purity of its hilt and the dark power of its blade. Its name, “Clair de Lune” (Moonlight), evokes the mysterious beauty of the Japanese night, where every reflection on the steel served as a reminder of the warrior's silent presence.
Manufacturing
Its blade is forged from 1095 steel , renowned for its high carbon content, ensuring a formidable edge and excellent durability. Clay-tempered using the traditional method, it reveals a true wavy hamon , a testament to the blacksmith's skill. 7 mm thick at the base and hand-polished, it combines strength and refinement.
Frame & Details
Assembled in the Shirasaya style , the katana is distinguished by its light-colored, hard wood handle, devoid of superfluous ornamentation, highlighting the purity of the blade. The brass habaki and bamboo mekugi ensure a traditional assembly, faithful to the codes of Japanese forging.
